With a heavy heart, we share the passing of Rotarian, Cordie McGhee. We will be having a memorial luncheon this Thursday. There will be a service sometime in January with Cordie’s church family. Her obituary is below.

Lakeway, TX: Cor’Dlaine “Cordie” McGhee passed away at her aunt’s home in Donna after a lifelong battle with various health issues, ultimately pulmonary failure.

Cordie was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was an active and talented figure skater while growing up. Cordie spent several months in Europe during her college years. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Cordie earned a Master’s Degree in Social Change & Entrepreneurship with an emphasis on Non-Profits from Pepperdine University.

To say Cordie was adventurous is an understatement. She traveled all over the world. Cordie spent several months in Italy and Philippines and traveled throughout Europe, the United States, and Mexico. Cordie enjoyed hiking, the beach, and just about any outdoor activity.

Cordie had a heart almost as large as her personality. She volunteered at every opportunity. A few organizations she was most recently involved in were the Rotary International Club of Lake Travis, Leadership Lakeway, the Lakeway Chamber of Commerce, Women in Real Estate, and her church, ATX Cornerstone Church.

Cordie became a born-again Christian in 2011. Her faith was unwavering, and she is now rejoicing in Heaven.

Although Cordie’s life included numerous health challenges, they never slowed her down. Her courage and strength were extraordinary. Her gregarious personality and a gorgeous smile lit up every room. Cordie never met a stranger, and every person she interacted with became a fast friend.
