Paul Norton began his tenure as Superintendent of Schools for the Lake Travis Independent School District on August 1, 2020. 

Mr. Norton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science degree in Education from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Prior to joining Lake Travis ISD, he served as superintendent of the Texarkana school district where he helped develop and integrate an award-winning Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program and opened eSchool Prep—an online, tuition-free program for students in grades 5-11. Mr. Norton garnered numerous awards and accolades during his tenure at Texarkana including:

  • Superintendent of the Year, Region VIII Education Service Center (2015)

  • Texas Superintendent of the Year State Finalist (2015)

  • President's Award, the Greater Texarkana Branch of the NAACP (2014)

Professionally, Mr. Norton is a member of the Texas Association of School Administrators and a graduate of its Future Ready Superintendent Academy. He serves on the Texas Policy Committee on Public Education Information, the Texas Curriculum Management Program Cooperative Board, and the Lieutenant Governor’s Superintendent Advisory Panel.

Mr. Norton and his wife Jenna have three children: Emily, who is a junior at Arkansas Tech University; Julia, a high school junior; and Caleb, a seventh-grade student. Together, they enjoy being active, attending sporting events, hiking, as well as traveling, and experiencing new places.
